Lockdown clicks

 Since March, nothing much has happened as far as photography is concerned. Clicked few pictures with whatever subjects available at home, most of them came out so bad that it is not worth posting here. 

Below are some pics that are a bit ok.

Pokkunni Siva Temple

This is an ancient temple in Vadavannur, Palakkad. Though this is hardly a kilometre from my family temple, the first time I heard of this temple was from my friend Sunil's wife. I decided to visit there ASAP. 
What makes this temple different is how it is constructed. We get a feeling that it is floating, three sides surrounded  by a pond. It was late in the evening when we reached there and I managed only few clicks before light faded.

In continuation to my macro post of flowers, these are pics of insects and a lizard, all  taken from "Karunnia" garden. 

Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple

Due to higher level of security, devotees are not allowed to take even shirts inside the temple, so we had to comeback with camera to take pictures. 

First pic is the palace "kuthiramalika" that is next to the temple. Even there, we were not allowed to take pictures inside the palace.

This is a plant that was very common during my school days.

Mosquito catcher

This is the first time I have seen an ant prey on a live mosquito.
This was during my visit to India last December. We got back home from temple late in the evening and saw this ant in action. Unfortunately I was late to see how it all started. By the time I reached, Mr. Ant had the mosquito in his grips.

Kerala-2019

Some pictures that were taken wile going around in Kerala.
First two pictures are near Lulu convention center in Trissur.
Next two pictures are taken from a place  couple of kilometers from my house. 

Madhura Meenakshi Temple

Our main objective of Madhurai visit was to get blessings at the Meenakshi temple, but it was our second stop after the palace visit. Though the temple is an engineering marvel, we are not allowed to take cameras inside the temple. I had to come back next day to take pictures or "Gopurams" from the streets around the temple.

Solar eclipse

I was in my hometown when the last solar eclipse of the decade happened. Though it was one of the best location to see the spectacle, with parents watching me, it was difficult for me to go out and take pictures. Posting some that I managed somehow!!!

Madurai-Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal

Our trip to Madurai started with a visit to Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal. A 17th century palace built by the then Nayaka ruler, today it is a national monument under archaeological department. 

Interior is a fusion of Dravidian and Rajput style.

We came across some happy faces, a group of students who were on a visit to the palace.

Took few pictures inside the palace, including one with a huge beehive.
